Pitch Advice

Some of you know that I have a pitch scheduled in March with a Harlequin editor and an agent. I've been trying to come up with something constructive that doesn't make me sound like a complete idiot. A friend mentioned on eHQ that she was watching a DVD she ordered by Michael Hauge. I had no idea who he was. I found an incredible interview though where he talks about pitching. His book is How to Sell Your Story in 60 Seconds.

Interview at Writer Unboxed. It's a very interesting three part series.

Nothing scares me more than the idea of pitching in person. I like hiding behind an e-mail or a snail-mail envelope. You're going to have to help me with that...

I actually feel more confident after reading his interview. I'll only have 8 minutes for each pitch so the main thing is the hook.

But, you bet...I'll help any way I can.

I've heard good things about Michael Hauge's screenwriting course, that from novelists who swear by his approach.

I'm kind of like Chicki. I'd need to psyche myself up for a live pitch.

It's making my stomach hurt thinking about it because one thing they say is to be professional. Try not to be nervous...HA! Ok...

But I only have 8 minutes for each pitch. I think I've decided to concentrate on a new ms I'm trying. It's a paranormal so I'm a little worried I'm wasting their time. I don't know what I'm doing...don't really read them. Oh well.
