No One Heard Her Scream

No One Heard Her Scream by Oklahoma author Jordan Dane.

Not only do I want to give a shout out to a fellow Oklahoma author, a fellow member of my local OK RWA chapter, but she is a very cool person! This is her debut novel with back-to-back releases from Avon. Here's a glimpse at her press kit. Check out her website!!!

Burdened by Grief, She Hunts a Killer
They never found her sister’s body, but Detective Rebecca Montgomery knows her murderer is still out there. In the five months since Danielle went missing, there have been two more brutal abductions. A savage menace stalks the women of San Antonio and therelentless detective will do anything to find him.

And a Seductive Stranger Shadows Her Every Move
But her latest case—the discovery of a young woman’s remains inside the wall of a burned-down theater—plunges Rebecca from her grief into a brand-new nightmare. She soon meets handsome, mysterious Diego Galvan at the crime scene and his shadowy connections will lead to her first break in both cases. But when Rebecca submits to his considerable powers of seduction, she will leave herself vulnerable to a merciless killer . . . and when he attacks, no one will hear her scream.
I've just bought Scream which is the first in the series, and I'm having a hard time putting it down! I'll blog more about if after I finish.

Thanks so much for your support, Chelle. And your pretty face is on my MySpace blog with your nose in my book. That really made my day.

Thanks for the chuckle and for your friendship!!

You're more than welcome, honey! One of these days you'll do the same for me!!!

Most definitely. Count on it!!

Sounds like an exciting book. Isn't it wonderful meeting published authors through your local RWA chapter? We aspiring newbies can learn so much from them.

Hey Chicki---You have NO IDEA!! I attribute my learning how to write from my involvement with RWA and if you go to my website under the FOR WRITERS section, you will see my FIRST SALE story. Read how another author got me sold. I also have other tidbits out there that I hope you'll find helpful. Thanks for commenting.

You're call story is what got me so motivated! Our chapter has given me an incredible opportunitty by setting up the pitch with Margo. HQN is usually closed to unagented submissions. But I think alot of it is the friendships and connections we make through the group! This is such a competitive market and sometimes a great break can come when you least expect it.

How did you sleep last night? Are you still riding high from your first day of having your baby out in the world?!?! I can almost feel your excitement!

Surprisingly, I did sleep well last night--exhausted from the previous night probably. LOL

I actually resisted going out to check shelves until today. I spent the day calling local stores to see if I could sign stock. And my dear sweet hubby picked up some author stickers for me so it would save me a trip.

I got tons of pics from people yesterday to post on my blog on MySpace. Funny ones too. That really made my day.

And I got up to #15 in Romantic Suspense on amazon. Not sure what that means, but it doesn't suck. :)

WooHoo!! I don't know either but sure sounds awesome to me! Do you know how many people buy books from Amazon?!?!

Jordan Dane said...

I know that is the easiest place for me to buy books, but I heard on my crimespace blog that amazon is a small drop in the bucket compared to the big box stores of Walmart, Target, etc. So getting obsessed with sales figures off amazon (which authors do apparently) is not time well spent. But it was fun yesterday when I kept calling my Mom & Dad to say "I'm number 21, 17, 15."

And I was high on the list for Canada and Japan too. I hadn't checked them out until this week. Who knew?

Jordan Dane said...

I told a friend yesterday that "playing" on amazon is like a video game or buying something for 150,000 rubles when in the US that translates to $1.50.

Who knows what it all means but it can be a fun ride?

What's really cool is what we will learn through your experience! I never would've thought to look at the different lists to see where the book places. How can you find out about sales and where it's listed with WalMart and B&N? I've heard that local bookstore sales rise when a local author signs books to keep on the shelf.

I had to laugh when I saw what my writing tip of the day says...If you approach writing with a teachable attitude, you can learn from many sources.

You'd be surprised how much there is to know. I was chatting with Cindy S yesterday and mentioned a number of things she should do differently than I did. Some things work and others don't. I'm a big online marketer, rather than doing book signings, but I think it's important to cultivate those relationships with your local book stores and be as nice as you can to the personnel of any store you walk into. They can help sell your book, but of course you should do that no matter what. LOL

And I'm going to leave digging up sales figures to my publicist. She's good at it. And there are resources to ck, I just don't know what they are. Another thing to learn.

I'm checking out for breakfast and my errands. Nice chatting with you and have a good one.

Sounds great! The title alone got my attention.

Congrats, Jordan! I'm definitely bookmarking your book. I can't wait to read it! :)

Jordan,
I think I'll check my local Borders for the first book in the series, sounds interesting.

Chelle, when are you going to start posting? I tried to download your synopsis and got error. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much for dropping by today, guys!

Bella ~ I can email you the file or try to reload. It has nothing to do with you because it didn't open for Jennifer either. It was doing that with my files before I bought the new laptop, so I can't blame it on that. I've added two pages to the synopsis so I'll send the newest version. I'm hoping to have the chapter ready by Friday.

Thanks, Bella. I really loved this book since it is set in my old hometown with lots of memories.
