Moving forward:)

Rise and shine. I'm doing much, much better at this blogging thing. I LOVE blog hopping in the mornings when I wake up to see what everyone is up to. I feel good with what I accomplished yesterday. And my support staff deserves a bow. Little man did his schoolwork and played quietly (well not really so quiet as much as out of my focus) in his room after I bribed him with a game of soccer later. I took a break as promised and ran his little tush off outside to wear him out. It worked and allowed me more time with my research. Hubby was so supportive when he came home last night and dinner was cold...well...raw. He offered to help but I felt so bad I jumped up and pushed him toward the shower so I could fry up some chicken for him. I threw together some corn and garlic-chive mashed potatoes. Honey went to bed with a full tummy and was happy.

I actually had a good talk with my hero yesterday. He revealed a few things, but to tell the truth...it was what he DIDN'T say that spoke the loudest. He's very angry. Like...needs therapy angry. He was robbed as a child. Neither one of his parents showed any type of emotion. His family life was non-existent. The housekeeper raised him and thank God for that. She's a sassy, southern woman (think Paula Deen) and he developed a dry southern sense of humor because of her. She'll also play a pivotal role in smacking him on the back of his head when it comes to making nice with the heroine. *sigh* I'll try to dig a little deeper today and then start on HER. Heroine is a southern good girl that reminds him of the mouthy housekeeper. So he'll try to keep his distance because the last thing he wants is another loud woman telling him what to do. But he won't be able to resist that sexy, swinging walk and slow, southern drawl.

Back to being nosy...hope you guys have a happy, productive day!!

I'm enjoying getting insight into how you're developing your characters! Sounds like you have a great system. Do you have a specific worksheet you work through? You seem to be digging deep into your characters and asking some great motivational questions!

Jennifer ~ LOL. Don't tell Cash he's broken. He thinks he's the only sane one in the family;)

Jody ~ Thank you! That's a huge compliment for me. I started out with character worksheets but just got in a groove of my own. Now when I'm developing my characters I just sit down and start typing. I usually have an actor or someone specific in mind so I do a little research.

So first, you go girl, having a plan and things working out (the new blog look is very cute too!)

A broken hero who needs therapy? GREAT! Bring him on! :)

Glad to hear your interview went well. I love that our characters can tell us things without saying anything. That's how it was with the MC in the manuscript I just finished. She held a lot back but once the story took a pivotal turn, she was such a different person and I ended up really, really liking her :)

Lynnette ~ Hopefully I'll have the first chapter loaded by this weekend.

Cindy ~ My heroine looks to be the same as your MC. Sometimes one character is much easier to get on paper than another. But when the words flow...it's so much sweeter;) Let's hope your MC stays comfortable with you and keeps flowing!

DD ~ Thank you!! I was inspired by your new look;) I was upset about having to switch gears again but the words seem to really be working on this one. I hope I'll get a decent first chapter and start in the righ place this time.

Kate ~ Thanks, girl!! Maybe one of these days I'll catch up with you;)
