TGIF

I can't believe the weekend is here already. And on top of that...April is at an end and my oldest will be out of school in a few weeks. Which is scary because it'll mean alot of sibling bickering while I'm trying to write. I was hoping my new RA meds would kick in and take away some of the health issues I'm dealing with, no such luck. But I am determined to push through with my writing. My hands are so swollen that I can't even wear my wedding ring. *sigh* I think I'm at least learning how to read my body and how to schedule my outings and activities. Hubby gives me the shots on Saturday when he can be home to help with the kiddos and the chores. I'm also learning to let go and ask for help around the house. My mom has been a real trooper and calls everyday to see what needs to be done, or just to see how I'm feeling. We know that the first three days are pajama days. It helps that the oldest can drive himself to school and helps with the 7 yo during the week.

On the writing side...I'm taking one day at a time. I've set goals and timelines, and joined several challenges to push myself. I have a pitch coming up at my OKRWA mini-conference in June. Not sure what I'm pitching yet...I'm thinking my western historical. We've got an editor from Harlequin coming, and an agent from the Knight Agency. Woohoo!! I've also committed myself to writing a novella with some of my OKRWA sisters, and a short story challenge with some writing buddies.

So....starting Monday morning, I'm planning to get up before kiddos and get my social media out of the way, leaving the rest of the day to work on deadline materials. I'm hoping I can push myself to be more consistent with my blogging. This should be interesting!

Have a beautiful weekend!!

How do you do it?!

Aaaaaaaggggghhhhhhh! My 7 yo is working on my last nerve. He's going through a phase that I assure you, may be the death of me. *deep breath* I feel like these last couple of weeks, he's been testing my patience. We've been so busy around here getting ready for spring and summer, and little man just seems determined to whine and argue about everything. I'm truly blessed though because my mom came over tonight and helped us put up the pool. Afterwards she helped me prepare dinner, and even washed dishes while I ate and put little man in the shower.

I have to admit that I recently became a little envious of friends talking about planting gardens. So I shared with hubby and he tilled up a spot for me and we've been planting all kinds of stuff. I noticed tonight that I'm already getting blooms on my roma and grape tomato plants. My red and sweet white onions are growing strong, and well...pretty much everything seems to be living. Which is a good thing for me since hubby hasn't been able to help much. I think I may have lost 2 lettuce plants, and I didn't get the potatoes in on time. I'll try to get them dug tomorrow just in case one of them survives. My mom told me to plant some garlic cloves and I almost didn't, but I have three shoots that have popped up. Too cool. My herbs are ready to start harvesting so I'll have to find some yummy recipes to share and use my fresh herbs. We started buying our canning supplies and I'm soooo looking forward to fresh pico, salsa, and spaghetti sauce.

And he is asleep!! YES!! Okay guys, I'm off to get some writing time in before I crash for the night. How do you do it? Anyone else struggling with life interrupting your writing?

Get Busy

Wow. I can't believe it's been so long since I blogged. I really need to make an effort to be more consistent. But as usual...life happens. ;) We finally made it back from Savannah. We were able to do some sight-seeing, but unfortunately my health didn't cooperate and we didn't make it by the historic cemeteries or museums. We did however go to the Tara Feis Irish heritage celebration, which was awesome, and scooted over to Tybee Island, where we froze to death. LOL.

This week looks to be uneventful. But ya know if I plan it out, something will pop up to sidetrack me. So no plans or goals...I have to kick butt and get my request sent in, and I've been asked to participate in an Oklahoma based series with a few of my OKRWA sistahs.

As soon as I rewrite my synopsis and tweak the partial, I'll have to outline and sketch out the historical novella I'll be writing for the American Rose line at The Wild Rose Press. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend.

Smooches.
